The Brendon Group
The word "entrepreneur" conjures an image of a person
who has an idea and brings it to reality with great success. Kevin
Giblin of the Brendon Group takes that a step further. He brings an
entrepreneurial spirit to all of their residential, commercial and mixed
use projects.
This spirit is displayed daily in their operation,
from developing new homes with designs and features to finding the right
user for their retail malls or office buildings. The mood remains the
same of doing it with a passion so that the end result is that the
client receives more value. " Brendon Homes" traditionally have the
highest resale value of any homes in the market", states Giblin. " We
design a home project in a way that it has the best values and produces
a great neighborhood environment for families to raise their children."
Giblin is the first to point out that all of this does
not happen without a strong support staff that mirrors his spirit and
fervor. From the office staff to subcontractors to the selling brokers,
the Brendon Group credo is cited and practiced daily. " I know that if
it’s a choice between saving money or doing it the right way, we will
always choose the latter", explains Brian Bush, project manager for
Brendon Homes. " It actually makes my job easier, because I know he only
will expect the best," adds Bush.
Their latest project in Northboro displays all of the
attributes of Brendon Homes neighborhood. Tall Pines, named for obvious
reasons, was chosen for it’s aesthetics and accessibility to other
services as well. " It is our core area, so we are usually ahead of the
market in finding land like this that is user-friendly for living,
shopping and commuting to work," states Bush.
Brendon Homes has built more than 500 homes in the "
Boros" which is directly west of Boston and Southboro. " We pride
ourselves on working well with all of the local boards, creating strong
real estate products and donating time and money to the local schools
and charities to hopefully make these communities a better place to live
and work in," explains Giblin. " We want homeowners to know that this is
our area and that we are in it for the long haul. At Tall Pines, Brendon
has constructed their traditional model home that displays all of the
features and quality that they are known for. The first floor is
furnished, creating a firsthand experience on how furniture looks and
how livable each room is. " We want to show people two things here,"
explains Michael Durkin, Dallamora’s agent and Brendon Homes broker. "
First of all, we always display our traditional quality features that
have become the hallmark of our success. Secondly, and here is where the
Brendon credo comes into play, we are helping our client’s dream and
vision about some of the features that they can add to their home to
personalize it"
Durkin explains, "It takes more time and adds to the
workload of our people, but what it gives the client is a home that they
feel they have had input in and will grow in value for years to come."
At the average price of $395,000 for their past three
projects, Brendon offers hardwood floors, crown mouldings, brick
fireplaces, ceramic tile and rich family-style kitchens as standard
features. "We feel that all of these components have helped make us
successful in outselling our competition by two to one each and every
year," states Giblin. " We’re constantly meeting with our buyers and
non-buyer to review what they are saying about our product. It’s tough
to take some of the criticism because we put so much of ourselves into
each and every neighborhood, but that’s how we will make a better
product for the future," says Giblin.
The Brendon Group is about to begin a new neighborhood
in Southboro, offering an " empty nester-style environment," but still
featuring all of the traditional Brendon qualities. " I’m very confident
in our ability to have people relate to our housing in this kind of
setting because we’re such a responsive company now," says Giblin. " We
know that the demands will be somewhat different in floor plans and
features; however, our customer has come to expect this level of quality
and versatility from us as a developer."
Looking at their track record it’s tough to argue with
their optimism for the future. Builder/Architect Magazine is proud to
feature " The Brendon Group ," builders of fine homes, creating
communities of lasting beauty, and helping families fulfill their
dreams. The beautiful commercial projects you build, with architectural
beauty, will last for many years.
